It isn’t every day that you get to walk in the footsteps of a 17th century Dutch master! Enjoy an in-depth look into the world of Rembrandt with one of our private guides, as you explore the very streets where he lived and worked.
Your tour will start with a walk through Spiegelquarter, known for its diverse collection of antiques and crafts, before you stroll over the Keizersgracht (also known as the Emperor’s Canal) and discuss one of Rembrandt’s most successful apprentices. In Rembrandt Square, you’ll learn about the Night Watch guards, featured in one of his most celebrated works, and here recreated as bronze sculptures. In Staalstraat, you’ll hear about the local Drapers’ Guild, immortalized by Rembrandt in one of his most famous paintings, and in Waterloo Square, you’ll discover the former Jewish quarter, where Rembrandt and his wife lived for many years. You’ll end the tour at Rembrandt’s house, now a museum, where you’ll be able to see his etchings and personal art collection, authentic furnishings from the 1600s and the office where he produced much of his work. By the end of the tour, you’ll have a deeper understanding of this remarkable artist’s life.
Highlights Include:
The Emperor’s Canal, one of the city’s three major canals
Spiegelquarter, a must-see for lovers of artistic curiosities and antiques

Our guide Paola was just wonderful, she is VERY knowledgeable but patient with those of us who are not.
Very much enjoyed the museum and the private tour. We lucked out and it was only us on the tour. Had a great time with Victoria and got more from the museum than we would have on our own
We had afantastic time with our guide, Victoria. She was extremely knowledgable and made the museum items really come to live. If you have only a few hours available and want tobknow more than just the average, this tour is a must!
A good guide can turn any museum experience from a "ho hum" day into a wonderful, educational, stimulating memory. Cera made that special memory for us today
The young woman who was are tour guide was well versed in her subject, interesting, easy to understand and as pleasant as she could be. She was also completely prepared with back up materials on her notepad and other materials to enhance the experience. One of the best tours of an art museum we have ever taken.
